that's really all you can ask for in a birthday weekend. if you click on this photo, you might just be able to make out metsfan, mil, and me plummeting to our near demise. we roasted in the sun and consumed hotdogs, ice cream, and some scary looking thing called a meat patty (or something of the sort). ms. cat claimed that they were quite tasty if you didn't look at what lurks beneath the flacky yellow crust. i stuck with chicken sandwiches, and i think my stomach was grateful for it. anyway, for those of you who haven't been to nyc's most ghetto beachside amusement park, i do heartily recommend it. i've never seen so many pregnant young women leading large broods of toddlers this far from utah. quite a treat!

Thanks for letting me and my parents share your birthday with you, Moosk! It was tons of fun. Daddy's still talking about the Cyclone.
indeed it is... i'm still not sure how i feel about it. what about the fabled thirties? ...just makes me think of that horrible dramedy "thirty-something." we're not that old, are we?
i'm a little tempted to see if "thirtysomething" is on dvd. L and i were watching "parenthood" not terribly long ago and were shocked to discover that we no longer identify with the keanu reeves/mathra plimpton teenager characters and now identify with the steve martin/mary steenbergen/rick moranis characters. watch it and you'll see what i mean.
personally, i think the thirties are where it's at. we'll all finish school, have kids, and finally figure out what haircuts look good. i'm excited.
